Per interval—
Per month (30d)—
Per year—
Annualized rate (APR)—
payment = notional × rate
notional = size × price
// positive rate: longs → shorts
Assumptions Constant funding held over the whole period. Real rates change each interval, exchanges use mark/index prices and caps, and margin tiers differ. Treat the output as an order-of-magnitude cost estimate, not a quote.

How to read the result

[PLACEHOLDER: short explainer — green/red sign means receive/pay for your selected side; compare the daily cost against the move your plan requires; funding is paid automatically from your margin balance, so a paying position drifts closer to liquidation even when price is flat.]

Frequently asked questions

How is the funding payment calculated?

Payment per interval equals position notional multiplied by the funding rate. With positive funding, longs pay shorts; with negative funding, shorts pay longs. This calculator multiplies the per-interval payment by the number of intervals in a day, month or year.

Does the calculator match my exchange exactly?

No. Real exchanges calculate funding on mark or index prices, apply rate caps and intervals, and may tier margin rules. The result is an educational estimate built on a constant-rate assumption; always verify against the exchange's own contract specifications.

Is a high funding rate a signal to enter a trade?

Not on its own. Funding is a carrying cost and a crowding indicator, not a directional forecast. A position must make sense after subtracting the funding you expect to pay over the holding period.
